Historical silver treasure of the Schützenbruderschaft from the electoral era on display in the Mutter-Beethoven-Haus in Ehrenbreitstein – opening on Sunday, June 1 at 2 p.m.

At the time of Ludwig van Beethoven’s mother, Maria Magdalena Keverich, the Ehrenbreitstein marksmen were highly respected at the Electoral Court. Many high dignitaries were members and often “bird kings” of the society. Even Elector Clemens Wenzeslaus was crowned king of marksmen several times. For this reason, he donated a precious silver shield. Many members of the court and citizens of Ehrenbreitstein also donated silver shields and a magnificent silver bird.

Members of the St. Sebastianus Schützenbruderschaft Ehrenbreitstein 1520 e.V. will open the exhibition during a small ceremony.

Afterwards, the silver treasure can be viewed during the opening hours of the Mutter-Beethoven-Haus (Sunday 2-6 pm).
